Streamlining the Acquisition Process at Rock Island Arsenal

Rock Island Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center Arsenal (RIA) -JMTC) in Illinois seeks to eliminate waste in order to improve performance in the delivery cycle time. Equipped with a Value Stream Analysis (VSA), a lean management method to examine the current state of a product, RIA-JMTC aims to revive the process. Under the direction of Richard Nesbitt, Deputy Commanding Officer of RIA-JMTC, the VSA provides them with a framework and understanding that could save 45 to 60 days of delivery time for some projects. As experts and subject matter experts examine the data, they pursue their goal of improving processes with Lean Six Sigma
